Public Facilities Program

The Public Facilities Program supports community development by improving facilities and shared spaces for residents. Community facilities such as libraries, museums, community centers, and performance spaces are crucial to economic development and growth. Many types of facilities are eligible for funding from the OCRA program.

Eligible activities: Removal of architectural barriers for ADA accessibility, Community centers, Daycare centers, Facilities for special needs groups, Fire/EMS stations, Healthcare centers, Historic preservation, Learning centers, Libraries, Senior centers, Youth centers.

Qualified non-profit organizations and community centers are eligible for funding to create or otherwise improve commercial building spaces. Improvements can include rehabilitating a facility or adding on to it to meet community needs. Region 3A helps coordinate community funding efforts by offering resources, evaluating potential economic benefit, grant application writing and submission. They also administer the funding if approved and coordinate project completion.
