Main Street Revitalization Program
Main Street Revitalization Program
The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs developed the Main Street Revitalization Program with the goal of encouraging areas to focus on community development planning for the long-term. Towns can apply for funding for projects in business creation, increased tourism, historic preservation, and other economic revitalization efforts.
MSRP grant applicants must meet these prerequisites:
- Have a designated Indiana Main Street organization
- The Main Street organization is in good standing for meeting all reporting requirements
- The Main Street organization has attended required workshops associated with the Indiana Main Street Program during the past year
A designated downtown organization is one of the requirements to be eligible. In the past, Region 3A has helped rural towns establish designated downtown improvement committees so they can become eligible for funding. They gather necessary information, provide financial models for insight on infrastructure improvement, and help complete projects if funded.
