Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation

Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation

The CDBG Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation program is funded by IHCDA and allows eligible local units of government and not-for-profit organizations to apply for grant funding for repairs on owner-occupied residential properties.

If approved, funding of up to $25,000 per home may be used to improve conditions in the home that otherwise, if not addressed, would create an issue and become a detriment to the residents' quality of life.

The grant-based program is often competitive, requiring communities to apply, as individuals alone are not eligible. Applications are accepted once a year, and Region 3A works with communities to ensure they have all resources available to make their application competitive. They've found that towns with matching grants often see more success. If accepted, they work with the community and administer the grant while overseeing projects to completion.
